Religious Founder
Shri Guru Ravidas ji, is the founder of the Ravidasia religion. One who believes in Guru Ji’s philosophy and gospel is known as a Ravidasia. It is not a condition that one should have been born in ‘Ad-Dharam’ community to become or initiated as Ravidasia.
Religious Cripture (The Holy Book)
The Mission has adopted the ‘Shri Guru Sikhya Sahib’ as the Ravidasia religions holy Book. This holy book imparts the existence, worship, belief, praise, dedication and devotion to One Almighty God the creator. This holy book contains Guru Ji’s gospel and also many other contemporaries and disciples, who preached the absolute truth for spiritual sublime and personal enlightenment. This holy book contains passages from the holy book Ravidas-Deep, which was presented in the court during British rule in India in recognition of the Ravidasia religion and the ‘Ad-Dharam’ community.
Guru Ji's Birth Place
All Ravidasia’s and historians believe that Shri Guru Ravidas Ji was born on 15th January 1377 and according to the Indian calendar, Sunday Sukhal Falgin Parvithta in 1433. The birth place is located in the Uttar Pradesh State in India, the city of Benares. It was not an urban area. The locality was known as Mandhuadhe. The community was known as ‘Kutvandla’ one of the Shudhras communities.
Ravidasia Religious Flag
This was established after intensive research. It is not written in any language or recited or meditated. It is known as the ‘Nishan Sahib’ the holy word given by a master (Guru) for mediation at the time of disciples initation. There is an irrelevant tussle going on amongst some Ravidasia’s that the symbol should be ‘Sohang’ or ‘Har’. Both of these words are directly or indirectly meant for mediation or in reciting of Ravidasia hymns.
